I'm guessing this is about 6 hours more than the average poster.
Anyway, I ran into a problem. I posted it in the work in progress page, and apparently because I have not been a registered user long enough/have not edited enough articles, I do not yet have access to the "move tab," so I can't post it.
So the world will have to wait to read my article as a full-fledge Wikipedia entry. Sigh.
At least you can read the work in progress.
It is about the author of a cookbook my grandfather gave to my grandmother as a present, and which my mother still has (and still uses). George Rector was a forerunner to Julia Child. He had a cooking show on network radio in the 1930's, had a Broadway musical written involving the trendy New York City restaurant he ran with his father before prohibition, and he wrote food columns for the Saturday Evening Post. He also appeared in a Mae West movie... As himself!
